About Maria Chiara
I love travelling and living in different countries but nowhere is ever going to be as good as home. I like IPAs, French wines, and spending hours looking at pretty cells under a microscope. I never step back from a challenge.

Maria Chiara graduated in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology at the University of Padova in 2011. During the last year of her studies she was awarded an Erasmus scholarship to spend six months at King’s College London, working on the synthesis of fluorescent hepcidins with Prof. Robert Hider. She then started a PhD in the same group working on the design, synthesis and biological evaluation of hepcidin analogues, sponsored by Vifor Pharma. In 2015 she joined the Dove's and O’Reilly's groups at the University of Warwick (moved to Birmingham in April 2018) to work on the synthesis of new polymeric nanoparticles for drug delivery applications. In 2018 she joined the Thurecht's group as a visiting postdoc (June-Sept) to investigate in vitro and in vivo behavior of polymeric nanostructures.
