  • About Christopher

I am a mad keen fisherman looking to hook a mangrove jack every summer. I also love playing tennis and street cricket with my kids. I enjoy being a member of the Thurecht research group because there is a broad range of skills and experience within the group and everyone is keen about the science and keen to provide assistance on projects.

    Projects

    No projects at this time.
I am a biochemist with a keen interest in the design, engineering and analysis of biologicals such as antibodies for the development of bio-nanomaterials. I am particularly interested in the development of multi-specific nanomaterials using bispecific antibodies for application in diagnostics and drug delivery. I have specialised skills in the production, purification and analysis of biologicals, which has been acquired from over ten years work in both industry and academic settings. I have specialised skills in protein expression systems including mammalian protein expression in CHO cells, protein analytics such as biolayer interferometry (BLI) for analysis of protein-nanomaterial interactions and the binding kinetics and the development of cell and immunological based bioassays, . I am a CI within the ARC ITTC Centre for Biopharmaceutical Innovation (CBI) working on projects with industry partner CSL Ltd focused on protein discovery and production. I am also affiliated with the Centre for Bionano Science and Convergent Technology (CBNS). I am currently working as a postdoctoral researcher within the Centre for Biomedical Imaging and Technology (CIBIT) with the company Minomic on a project focused on the targeting of prostate cancer specific receptors with antibody technologies for delivery of radiotherapy, drugs and immune based targeting.
