About Shauna
With a competitive sporting background and growing up by the coast, I love living life active and outdoors. On the weekends you will most likely find me either training, cycling, hiking, at the beach or local farmers markets. I also love being social and meeting new people - especially fellow scientists!

My undergraduate studies specialised in chemistry, chemical biology and materials chemistry. Such background fit seemingly with the Thurecht group's inter-disciplinary Bio-nano focus. My Honours project, involving the development of a NIR activated probe for enhanced special and temporal resolution, has allowed me to develop my technical research and analytical skills across materials and organic chemistry with in vivo applications in mind.
